UOW Wireless Network

Overview

The University provides wireless internet access to the Wollongong Campus and its remote campuses. The University is currently undergoing a network refresh which includes the upgrade of the wireless infrastructure which will utilise new wireless LAN’s (WLAN) for better connectivity. Available to The UOW Wireless Network is available to staff, students and guests of the University who have an active UOW user account.
Features
  • A safe, convenient and high speed wireless network
  • Supported wireless standard is: 802.11a/g/n
Requirements
  • To access the network you will need a laptop, mobile phone or other handheld device which is capable to make a wireless connection.
  • An active UOW User Account
Getting Started

To get started on the Wireless network, visit our setup guides page for step by step instructions on how to set up and configure your laptop or mobile device. If you require further help, visit the labs on Level 1, Building 17.

Notes
  • iPhone/iPad users: Please note that not all applications will work on the UOW Wireless network. For more information, visit our Wireless FAQs
  • Students: if your allocated internet quota allowance has been exhausted, you can apply for extra quota to connect to the UOW Wireless Network or connect through your own personal provider.
