Wired Network

Overview

ITS provides wired access to the UOW network  across all campuses in faculty and staff offices,  residences, computer labs and classrooms.

Available to Staff, students and guests of the University who have an active UOW user account via authorised devices.
Features Safe and convenient high-speed network access
Requirements An  active UOW User Account and permission to connect (see note below)
Getting Started Connection to the University’s IT facilities and/or network is usually completed as part of the  installation of computing/telecommunications equipment for faculty and staff offices, residences, computer labs and classrooms by authorised personnel.

Excerpt from the UOW IT Acceptable Use Policy

4. No user shall without proper authorisation:
a. attach any device to University IT facilities;
b. connect any equipment to the University network (for example a modem) that will
extend access or provide off-campus access to University IT resources without the
prior written approval of the Chief Technology Officer or delegated persons, that such
connection meets university security standards;
c. tamper with or move installed IT facilities without authorisation.
