Internet Access & Quota

Overview	The University encourages the use of the internet including email and web services to facilitate communication among UOW users and the external community and greater efficiency in teaching, research, administrative and service functions. Access to the internet is available across all campuses and a quota system is in place for students to allow the efficient management of internet use.

Available to	Internet access is available to all holders of an active UOW account. Internet quota limits are imposed on all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.
Features	The University uses a high speed (1GB per sec) optic fibre connection to AARNet with redundant infrastructure for high availability.
Requirements	A computer, laptop or other handheld device capable of connecting to the internet.
Getting Started	To access the UOW network you will need an UOW user account and password.
Notes	No Internet Quota is imposed for Postgraduate research students. Internet Quota for undergraduates is granted on a six monthly allocation at the beginning of each year and is reset midyear. Off-net traffic is all websites external to the University which use internet quota.
