Sponsorship & International Development  

The University of Wollongong engages with governments and international organisations that sponsor coursework and research students at UOW. Sponsors support students by covering the students’ fees and expenses for the duration of their study. The University values our sponsor relationships and we provide additional services for sponsors and sponsored students such as a:

  • A single dedicated contact point for sponsored students
  • Progression monitoring of sponsored student cohorts
  • A dedicated contact point for sponsor agencies
  • Provision of academic reports for sponsors regarding students they are supporting

UOW has partnerships with over 50 sponsors all around the world to support over 500 sponsored students.

A team of students head to Jakarta, Indonesia, to help map seasonal floods in the city as monsoon season peaks. PetaJakarta is a key UOW Global Challenges project helping to address the challenge of Sustaining Coastal and Marine Zones and is further supported by Australian National Data Service.

Oceans cover 72 percent of the earth’s surface, and their management provides many of humanity’s greatest challenges. The Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) at the University of Wollongong is helping nations across the globe to meet those challenges
