INTI International University Study Tour to UOW Camps | 23 Sep 16
UOW welcomed 49 Malaysian students to the University’s Wollongong campus from INTI International University and Colleges. UOW’s partnership with INTI stretches back to the late 1990s’ which began through a series of teaching collaborations, and now has blossomed into an exclusive partnership agreement where in which INTI offers UOW Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, Commerce, and Information Technology as well as the UOW Master of Business Administration where more than 1500 are currently undertaking these programs.
The group undertook a number of cultural activities during their week stay, as well as completing an academic program put together by the Faculty of EIS and Business which involved the students attending a number of industry tours and industry lectures, such as a visit to RMB Lawyers in Wollongong and a guest lecture hosted by one of the internationally renowned Big Four auditors, KPMG.
International Students Represent UOW at IEAA Transnational Education Forum | 11 July 16
Two international students represented UOW at the recent International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) Transnational Education Forum held in Melbourne. Jillian Teo, a UOW Bachelor of Psychology Honours student at the Singapore Institute of Management, and, Charles Lee Nicholas, a Master of Business student at INTI International College in Malaysia participated in a panel discussion consisting of six international students. Presenting to over 100 participants, the students outlined their experiences of moving from their home institutions in Singapore and Malaysia to UOW in Wollongong. They shared details about the challenges they faced and expressed ideas of how on institutions could improve for the benefit of their peers. Read more..
STUDENTS HONOURED AT NEW COLOMBO PLAN GALA EVENT | 4 Dec 15
Two top-ranked candidates from UOW have been selected as Fellows for their host countries as part of the 2016 New Colombo Plan (NCP) Scholars program, announced at a gala event in Canberra. Joshua Montgomery, 22, a second year Bachelor of Medical and Health Sciences student was named NCP Bhutan Fellow and Yang-Ming Goh, 20, a second year Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Scholar was named NCP China Fellow.
