University of Wollongong Careers Service

The team working within the UOW Careers Service have been recognised over a number of years as leaders in the field when it comes to preparing students for the graduate workplace.

Three of the Careers Service staff have held senior leadership roles within the graduate careers profession—as State and National presidents, and as Directors on the Board of Graduate Careers Australia. In 2007, the manager of the Service was awarded a Citation from the Carrick Institute for helping students see connections between their studies and the working world.

Their forward-thinking, comprehensive approach to getting students jobs is part of what led to UOW Careers Service being named 2007 Best Careers Service for Employers by the AAGE, a professional body of some of the Australia’s biggest graduate employers.

It’s also part of why UOW has scored five out of five stars in the category “Getting a Job” from the Good Universities Guide eight years in a row, which means UOW is consistently in the top 20% of universities nationwide for graduate employment rate.
