Applying to become a Casual Academic

The School of Information Systems and Technology and School of Computer Science and Software Engineering within the Faculty of Informatics are seeking appropriately qualified people to provide tutoring to students.

Casual Academics (Tutors) are employed on a sessional basis by the Schools to conduct tutorials and laboratory sessions and to mark assessable work.

Successful candidates will meet the following essential criteria:

• Successful completion of tertiary study in the relevant subject and/or equivalent qualifications.

• Organisational, presentation and communication skills.

Previous tertiary teaching experience and/or Industry experience in a relevant area will be highly regarded.

In addition to preparing for and running tutorials, Casual Academics may be required to:

• Attend a Casual Academic Induction Session.

• Participate in meetings with subject coordinator.

• May be required to attend a selection interview.

How to Apply

All applicants should be able to work until the end of the relevant session.

Closing date: 5pm Friday 27 January 2012

Interviews will be held during the two weeks immediately after this closing date.
