Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI)
The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute was established in November 2002 with initial funding of $1 Million from the Victorian Government's Science, Technology and Innovation Infrastructure grants program and matching funds from a consortium of Australian universities and other mathematical organisations. AMSI's mission is to become a nationally and internationally recognised centre for the mathematical sciences, providing competitiveness of Australian industry and commerce and enhancing the national level of school mathematics, by the provision and support of mathematical and statistical expertise.

AMSI is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.

The University of Wollongong
The University of Wollongong was incorporated in 1975, after starting out in 1951 as a division of the then New South Wales University of Technology, and then later as the Wollongong College of the University of New South Wales. Over this time the University has gone from having 300 students to over 18,000 students, with international students accounting for approximately 30 percent of enrolments. The University of Wollongong now has five campuses and has an international reputation for the high quality of the research produced, and is now the home of eight research centres and three ARC Key Centres for teaching and research.
The AMSI Summer School is being organised by The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics.

University Recreation and Aquatic Centre
The University Recreation and Aquatic Centre is kindly sponsoring the AMSI Summer School by providing in-kind support.
