2009 HSC Preparation Lectures
Mathematics
The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics (SMAS) in the University of Wollongong (UoW) is pleased to announce that HSC Preparation Lectures in Mathematics will be held at the Moss Vale Campus during the July and October school holidays.
Four 3 hour lectures will be presented for both Mathematics and Extension 1 Mathematics.
Each lecture will consist of a mixture of theory and worked examples with the aim of explaining the concepts behind the formulae rather than just substituting the appropriate numbers.
The program details are below.
Cost
These lectures are presented free of charge.
Materials
Each student will be provided of a booklet containing an incomplete copy of the slides presented at the appropriate lecture with the student expected to fill in the gaps during the lecture. Students should bring pens, calculator and paper for additional calculations.
