This event is sponsored by the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI). AMSI allocates a travel allowance annually to each of its member universities (for list of members, please click here). Students or early career researchers from AMSI member universities without access to a suitable research grant may apply to their Head of Department or Head of Discipline for subsidy of travel, and accommodation (registration is free) for MISG2009 out of the department travel allowance. In the event that an allowance is not made available, the student or early career researcher should contact the MISG director for further information. Students from NZ and other PRIMA countries (www.primath.org) are eligible for reimbursement of accommodation costs at MISG2009. We will book and pay for you at Keiraview Accommodation. Please email Joell Hall with your dates of arrival and departure and other details so she can book your Accommodation.
The New Zealand Mathematical Society is offering support to students who wish to attend MISG 2009. To be eligible students must be enrolled in a New Zealand University, and are expected to be a member of the New Zealand Mathematical Society. For more information please go to the New Zealand Mathematical Society page.
MISG 2009 will subsidise the conference dinner for students attending. Students will only be required to pay half of the dinner price.
The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics is hosting the AMSI Summer School from Monday 12th Jan to Friday 6th Feb 09. This is open to honours and post graduate students, and does have a course run to incorporate MISG 2009. Click here for more information on AMSI Summer School.
