Annual Innovation Fair

The Annual Innovation Fair is presented by the School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering on the last Friday of Spring Session. All family, friends, students, industry representatives and members of the public are all welcome to attend this event.
The event is held in the URAC Sports Hub from 2.00 - 5.00 pm and is an opportunity to showcase the products that have been developed each year by second and third year students enrolled in the following subjects:
- ECTE250 Engineering Design and Management 2
- ECTE350 Engineering Design and Management 3
In studying these subjects, students are introduced to engineering and project management concepts and their application to industry in conjunction with basic communication and problem solving skills. They are required to work in small teams of 6-10 students. Each team follows a project management framework starting with initial conceptualisation of a product through to design and ending with a final sales demonstration of their inventions.
Students are required each year to develop their project from a specific set themes. To view the 2012 themes please click here.
The Innovation Fair will also showcase Poster Presentations by fourth year ECTE458 Engineering Project 2, ECTE953 Advanced Project and Postgraduate research students.
