Assessment of Industry Placement

Fail/Pass/Credit/Distinction and High Distinction grades are NOT given for these subjects, NOR will marks be allocated. You will receive a grade of either Satisfactory (S) or Unsatisfactory (U). The reports are not usually returned, so please make sure you do not provide originals (eg of references). Furthermore, these subjects do not count in the calculation of weighted average marks.

Your reports will be assessed by Sim Kim Lau or Bob Brown. Report requirements are on the eLearning BInfoTech - Industry Placement site. You will be given access to this site once you have submitted your registration form.

Students are reminded that all registration forms for Industry Placement must be submitted to the Industry Placement Coordinators, Dr Sim Kim Lau or Dr Bob Brown, for approval PRIOR to the commencement of your Industry Placement. You should allow up to 2 weeks for the processing of the registration form, including access to eLearning. If the registration form was not submitted and approval was not obtained prior to the commencement of your  Industry Placement, your report will not be accepted for marking.

The completion of each Industry Placement requires that you:

  1. work, at least, half-time (min of 17.5 hours) for 8 weeks, (NB this does not equate to 4 weeks full-time);
  2. satisfactorily complete the report and submit it on time.
Submission Dates

We have two online submission dates throughout the year. Please see the registration form for dates.
