SCSSE and SISAT Poster Printer

SCSSE and SISAT has a Canon iPF700 near photo quality printer that is available for printing posters. It can print A2 or A1 size. Posters are printed on glossy paper. This printer is primarily intended for the printing of posters for the CSCI321 project trade show, postgraduate research days and for conference presentations.

  • Procedures for printing posters by SCSSE and SISAT staff are as follows:
  • Create your poster. Sample templates can be found on the software repository. The poster should be saved to PDF, PowerPoint or Microsoft Publisher formats. Set your page size to A2 or A1. If you are submitting in PowerPoint format, only use Windows/Office supplied fonts. If you are submitting in Microsoft publisher format you must save your poster as “Publish and Go” under the file menu. The preferred format is PDF.
  • Posters may be created using other applications but these must be submitted in PDF format. This can be done by printing the poster to a PDF writer such as CutePDF. CutePDF is included on most staff and laboratory computers. Set your page size to A2 or A1.
  • Pay a $20 fee per poster, including GST. The fee may be paid to Karen Williams from a research account. Payments by cash or EFTPOS are to be made via the Faculty Student Enquiry Centre.
  • Submit your poster to the SCSSE and SISAT help desk. This may be done via CD or USB drive. You will need to show your receipt.
  • SCSSE and SISAT support staff will check the poster for any obvious printing issues. You will be notified if any problems are found. However the onus is on the author to submit a correct poster.
  • The poster will normally be printed within 5 working days of submission. You will be contacted via email when the poster is ready for collection.
  • SCSSE and SISAT will keep a soft copy of the poster, which may be used for advertising or other purposes.
