In2Uni – Your UOW Experience

In2Uni connects school students with the University of Wollongong (UOW). It is an opportunity for you to get involved with our University and find out more about higher education and where it can take you.

In2Uni has many opportunities for you to get involved. Starting with students in Year 6 with the Engagement Day, the program also runs through to students in high school with the mentoring program and the UNIque Experience Day.

At UOW, we know that your journey towards “what you want to be when you grow up” starts much earlier than Year 12. This is our way of showing you what’s possible and opening your eyes to the options available to you.

Year 6 Engagement Day

The Year 6 Engagement Days offer you a wide variety of activities to connect with our University. You will participate in activities such as sessions presented by faculties, social activities, hear UOW student stories and orienteering. Your parents can also come along with you to find out more about UOW. Check our events page for more information!

The Academic Mentoring Program Years 7- 10

These programs are delivered at your school by trained UOW students. You would work with your mentor through a Handbook, which is aligned with the subjects you are studying at school. You’ll also take part in projects such as creating a biography on local heroes, developing a business, creating an episode for UOW TV and solving an environmental sustainability issue.

UNIque Experience Day

Year 9/10 students who actively participate in the Academic Mentoring Program will be invited onto campus to take part in an exciting on-site University experience each year. The day will be hosted by your University Mentors who you have worked with them in the Academic Mentoring Program and will involve campus tours, faculty-based “taster” sessions and information about student life at UOW. In2Uni online

In2Uni online is an interactive resource available to all participants in the In2Uni program. You will have access to our In2Uni website through your own login, and will be able to engage with online discussion boards, interactive games, upload your projects created in the Academic Mentoring Program, listen to podcasts, watch digital stories and contact your mentors. This site will particularly be useful for our In2Uni students who are located further away from UOW and may not be able to make it to the campus.

Year 11 & 12 Leadership & Transition Workshops

Open to Year 11 & 12 students, these workshops will be run each term in the schools involved in the In2Uni Program. During the Leadership & Transition Workshops, you will have the opportunity to work with your In2Uni Mentor to develop your study skills, explore your career options and participate in activities that will assist you in making the transition to Higher Education. The aim of the Leadership and Transition Workshops is to prepare you for senior and tertiary studies. Check our events page for more information!

HSC Study Assistance Days

HSC Study Assistance Days are held throughout the year at the University of Wollongong. HSC Study Assistance days will provide you with useful information and tips about approaching the HSC.
