About PCLThe cognition and perception laboratories house research facilities of five staff from the School of Psychology who are interested in a range of topics in cognition and perception, from purely theoretical to more applied topics. Currently we are engaged in research on visual processes, ranging from the perception of motion to face and object recognition, verbal memory, working memory processes and human reasoning. Some of this research encompasses diverse applied topics such as perceptual processes involved in aircraft landing and the role of cognitive processes in encouraging cancer test screening. In other research, we are interested in examining the development of cognitive processes in addition to their function in adults.
