Assessment & Treatment

Clients may self-refer or be referred through their doctor, psychiatrist or community agency.

To make sure that the Clinic is the best place for the treatment of a given problem, a thorough assessment is conducted before you will be taken on for treatment. If we decide that our interventions are not the best option, you will be put in touch with more appropriate sources of help. The assessment process is also useful because a comprehensive, structured assessment report is written which can then be taken to other professionals to help guide treatment.

Treatment is conducted either individually or in small groups. The group programs are targeted at specific problems that clients have in common (e.g. parenting skills, anger, self esteem or assertiveness). On the basis of the assessment, we decide which would be most suitable.
