The 14th Australasian PCP Conference

The next biennial Australasian Personal Construct Conference will be held at the University of Wollongong from 1-3 October, 2010.

Workshop: October 1 –Larry Leitner PhD
Healing through relationship: Personal connection, transformations, and severe disturbance
Cost:  Non-students $220.  Students $150.

Conference: October 2-3
Keynote address: Whence evil?: An experiential constructivist understanding

In the interests of keeping costs at a minimum to encourage student attendance, the conference will be held on Wollongong’s attractive campus. All streams will be in the 67.101 which has built in projection and audio equipment connected to both PC and Mac computers.

There is very limited accommodation on campus, but a range of hotels are available in the city and North Beach areas within a few kilometres of the university. See Local Bus Services for details of transport between hotels and campus.

Call for Papers

The presentations will have as a focus personal construct theory and/or methodology. A variety of formats for presentations will be accepted. Posters sessions, research in progress, symposia and full papers are invited. Slots for papers will be 30 mins duration. Workshops will be allocated longer, but please note contents for a workshop should be interactive and skills-oriented. Presentations will be refereed.

The deadline for abstracts has been extended by 2 weeks – the new submission date is 13 August 2010. These should be sent to Peter Caputi – pcaputi@uow.edu.au. Length of abstract 250 words maximum for papers, 350 words for workshop proposals.

Registration costs

Full Registration: $230
Student (not in receipt of full time income): $150.

Conference dinner

The conference dinner will be held at Centro, 28 Stewart Street, Wollongong. Centro has a long history in Wollongong, being for many years the Italian Centre restaurant serving traditional, home-cooked Italian food. The old wooden tables and red-checked tablecloths have given way to the current streamlined, modern décor, but the food has remained among the best in Wollongong.

Cost:  $60 per person.
