Results of the Latest Accreditation Exercise by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council
The School recently went through a re-accreditation exercise by the Australian Psychological Society. This occurs every 5 years.
Here are some general impressions of the committee:
The committee was impressed by the high-tech set up of our designated teaching laboratories in building 41;
Northfields Clinic is the "ideal clinical training" facility;
Lecturers were judged by students to be approachable and responsive:
The School was commended for the resources extended to the Clinical program;
the School's test library is very well equipped;
Final Recommendations Regarding our Courses:
That the School receive full accreditation as an academic organisational unit;
That the B Psych receives full accreditation;
That the Major in the BA and BSc receive full accreditation;
That the BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) receive full accreditation;
That the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology be fully accredited;
That the Master of Psychology (Clinical), Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) and the PhD (Clinical) receive full accreditation and full approval for associate membership of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
