Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion) Autumn Session 2012

The entry requirement for the Bachelor of Nursing Conversion, course 860, is an IELTS score of 6.5. Full-time Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion) students upgrading from diploma equivalent to bachelor must pass 24 credit points of subjects. This means they must do 4 x 6 credit point subjects during one session of study, either Autumn or Spring Session.

Students are automatically enrolled in the compulsory 0 credit point subject StartSmart – EAIS Essential Academic Information Skills. It is strongly recommended that students complete this subject as early in session as possible. The following is the recommended sequence of study:

Autumn Session

NMIH204 Reflection and Practice consists of 2 hours of lectures and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Patrea Andersen, 41.111.
NMIH303 Therapeutic Use of Self
consists of 2 hours of lectures and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Susan Liersch, 41.220.
NMIH309 Special Topic
consists of 2 hours of lectures and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Terry Froggatt, 41.108.
NMIH331 Research for Registered Nurses
consists of 2 hours of lectures and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Jenny Sim, 41.108.

Progression to Master of Nursing

Students who successfully complete and are deemed adequately prepared for postgraduate studies may progress straight into another 12 months of full-time study in a 48 credit point Master of Nursing by coursework. For further information contact Joanne Joyce-McCoach, 41.109.
