Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion) Spring Session 2011

The entry requirement for the Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion), course 860, is an IELTS score of 6.5. Full-time Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion) students upgrading from diploma equivalent to bachelor must pass 24 credit points of subjects. This means they must do 4 x 6 credit point subjects during one session of study, either Autumn or Spring Session.

Students are automatically enrolled in the compulsory 0 credit point subject StartSmart – EAIS Essential Academic Information Skills. It is strongly recommended that students complete this subject as early in session as possible. You need to select 4 of the following 5 choices of subjects:

Spring Semester

NMIH108 Introduction to Health Behaviour Change consists of a 2 hour lecture and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Terry Froggatt, 41.108.
NMIH205 Cultural Competence in Health Care Practice
consists of 2 hours of lectures and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Dr Moira Williamson, 41.221.
NMIH206 Nursing Therapeutics
consists of 2 hours of lectures and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Dr Peter Thomas, 41.216.
NMIH325 Community Development Nursing: Theory and Practice
consists of 2 hours of lectures and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Tina Chisengantambu, 41.108.
NMIH307 Leadership in Health Care
consists of 2 hours of lectures and a 2 hour tutorial per week. The subject coordinator is Rebekkah Middleton, 41.218.

Progression to Master of Nursing

Students who successfully complete and are deemed adequately prepared for postgraduate studies may progress straight into another 12 months of full-time study in a 48 credit point Master of Nursing by coursework. For further information contact Joanne Joyce-McCoach, 41.109.
