Dr Amanda (Mandy) Reid

Position:
- Technical Officer (Research)
- Role – to provide technical support to the School’s research staff.
Research Interests:
Invertebrate taxonomy and systematics. I have worked primarily on Cephalopods belonging to the Order Sepioidea (cuttlefish and dumpling squids) and my doctoral research was done on the Onychophora, or velvet worms.
I am still working on Cephalopod taxonomy in my spare time and am currently a recipient of an ABRS (Australian Biological Resources Study) grant to work on the Australian representatives of three families: Sepiolidae, Sepidariidae and Idiosepiidae.
I am also working on an Identification Guide to the Cephalopods of Australia.
Other experience:
I have worked as a freelance copyeditor, mainly on scientific manuscripts and books, for CSIRO Publishing and Australian Academic Press since 1999.
