My enrolment in one of my subjects shows “provisional”. What does this mean and how do I have it removed?
Many second and third year subjects offered by the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences have prerequisites. Students who have enrolled in a subject but do not meet the prerequisites for that subject will show a provisional enrolment status. In order to have the provisional status changed to enrol on your academic record you should apply for a waiver of the prerequisite by filling out an “Academic Approval - Waiver of Provisional Status” form which is available online through SOLS. Once you have filled this in, you need to hand the form in at HBS Central, Level 1, Building 41 Wollongong Campus. You will be notified via SOLS once the form has been processed and whether the waiver has been approved.
How do I make an appointment with the Sub Dean?
You only need to make an appointment with the Sub Dean if you need to get information or sort out an issue that cannot be given/dealt with by your Subject or Course Coordinator. How do I reduce my study workload?
If you are a domestic student you do not need to get approval to reduce your study load. If you need to withdraw from any subjects make sure this is done prior to the census date to avoid receiving financial and academic penalties.
If you are an international student it is compulsory for you to have a full time study load. If you wish to apply to reduce your study load you will need to complete an “Application to Reduce Study Load” form. This is an online form through SOLS found at the following link http://www.uow.edu.au/student/forms/UOW008135.html#International.
