Food and Health Strategic Research Initiative

Welcome to the Food and Health SRI

Food is a major part of the Australian and global landscape, and its production and consumption underpins the population’s health and well being. Current health, economic and environmental imperatives mean that food and health will continue to have an impact on Australia’s future.

How does food affect health? The Food and Health SRI combines research in Smart Foods and Public Health Nutrition to address questions on a continuum from how food affects the body, to how people come to choose food and under what circumstances; thus examining food effects in a broader social and political context.
