Dr Andrew Penman, Chief Executive Officer, The Cancer Council NSW

Dr Andrew Penman is a Queensland medical graduate who has had a wide-ranging career as a Public Health physician. This commenced with his involvement in primary health care development in the USA and the developing world. He worked for 13 years from 1983 in a succession of positions with the Health Department of Western Australia, including Chief Health Officer. In 1996 Dr Penman moved to New South Wales to take up the appointment as Director, Disease Prevention and Health Promotion for the NSW Health Department, and in June of 1998, was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of The Cancer Council NSW.
