Welcome to the Biomechanics Research Laboratory (BRL) website
The Biomechanics Research Laboratory, established in 1994, is a laboratory of research excellence located within the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Wollongong. It is home to a small but passionate group of academic staff and research students who are committed to developing innovative strategies, based on rigorous applied biomechanics research, to decrease injury potential and optimize the quality of life for individuals of all ages. UOW PhD Student Catherine Wild Judged “Best of the Best”

Dr Deidre McGhee, Prof Julie Steele and Dr Bridget Munro, in collaboration with Education specialist Jenny Vatovec, were awarded one of 6 UOW Community Engagement grants. “Beating breast bounce: An educational resource on breast support for high school students”, will develop and evaluate a much-needed educational resource for high school teachers and their students on breast support. The project will be conducted in partnership with in partnership with St Mary Star of the Sea College and Keira High School.
