Consumer Evaluation of Mental Health Services
(CEO-MHS) Project
1999 – 2000: Consumer Directed Research Group meets - CEO-MHS proposal begins to form. (Monthly meetings continue throughout the Project). Grant successful.
2001 February: Information sessions took place at various Illawarra Health services.
June – July: Launch of the project - One day workshop and information session.
August:

Applicants for consumer researcher positions interviewed.

Members of team attend TheMHS Conference Wellington, New Zealand.

September:

Fourteen consumer researchers appointed training sessions begin.

November – December:

Running of seven focus groups in Wollongong and Nowra.

2002 January – April: Analysis and validation of focus group data.
May – July:

Development of sampling methodology

Development of Interview questions and interview guide.

Top up interviewing skills training.

August

Start of interviews where consumer researchers use purposive sampling (ongoing).

The MHS Conference Sydney. Members of the team present a Symposium titled " Consumer evaluation of mental health services: not whether we should, but how we should".

November: Interviews in Mid-Western NSW take place, organised by Consumer Activity Group, Orange.
December:

Australian Society for Psychiatric Research (ASPR) Conference, Canberra. Member of the team invited to present paper for consumer symposium.

January 2003:

Writing for Publication" workshops".

Analysis of interview data starts.

Website development begins.

February – March:

"Evaluation" workshops.
