Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Public Relations is designed for those considering a new career in Public Relations as well for those practitioners seeking to enhance their contemporary public relations and communication knowledge.
Participants will gain an advanced understanding of:
- Theoretical principles and practical knowledge and skills in managing professional public relations activities.
- A range of traditional and new media practices and their applications for public relations management in complex business environments.
- How to build and enhance relationships with multiple stakeholders through techniques including communicating effectively in a variety of business contexts.
- How to initiate, plan, manage and evaluate public relations strategies and tactics.
- The legal, social, ethical and cultural issues impacting today’s public relations practice.

Course Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from the Graduate Certificate in Public Relations will be able to:
- Analyse and explain the theoretical principles and practical knowledge and skills in managing activities of professional public relations.
- Demonstrate an understanding of a range of traditional and new media practices and their applications for public relations in complex business environments.
- Evaluate complex ideas relevant to public relations management and implement change-related practices.
- Make independent judgements in a range of business communication contexts for development and maintenance of relationships with various stakeholders.
