Overview

The Master of Nursing is designed to prepare nurses for senior roles in nursing and in the health care system. It is a program of either selected coursework, or by a combination of coursework and a major project.

The aims of the program are to prepare candidates with beginning competence in research methods and design and provide candidates with important current evidence based health care and nursing information. The main objectives are to provide an academic avenue for professional development, knowledge and comprehension of research methods and design, and of evidence based practice.

Entry Requirements / Assumed Knowledge

A Bachelor degree in Nursing of at least three years duration or a Graduate Certificate in Nursing from a recognised tertiary institution is required.

International students are required to have achieved an overall IELTS score of 6.5, with a level of at least 6.0 in all bands, reading and writing, speaking and listening.

Course Requirements

The Master of Nursing is a 48 credit point program that may consist entirely of coursework, or may be a combination of coursework and a major project. There are 24 credit points of core subjects that all students must complete. The remaining 24 credit points can be made up from the elective subject list below, or the student may elect to complete their program by undertaking a research project (Major Project).
