Overview

The Master of Science (Population Health) provides students with the knowledge and understanding of efforts made by society to protect, promote and restore people's health. However, as a 72 credit point degree, it also gives students the opportunity to gain more knowledge in the area of health management, to undertake a major project, or to undertake study in another area with approval of Head of School.

Entry Requirements / Assumed Knowledge

A Bachelor degree of at least three years duration from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent. People with other acceptable qualifications and work experience may be admitted on completion of the Graduate Certificate in Public Health. International students are required to have achieved an IELTS score of 6.5, with a level of 6.0 in all bands.

Course Requirements

72 credit points of coursework, comprising (for the health management stream) five core subjects and GHMD906 Quality Management for Health Services; plus, another 3 elective subjects from schedule 2 and a further 18 credit points from any schedule; and, (for the project stream) 5 core subjects plus GHMD997 Major Project; and a further 18 credit points from any schedule. International students must take GHMD903 in their first session. Other elective subjects may be approved by the Head of School.
