Course Description
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is an advanced
postgraduate research degree that focuses on professional
business practice, providing managers with the necessary research
skills that can be applied to issues of organisational leadership
concern. The course is designed to provide a framework which
will enable participants to expand their knowledge in one
or more business areas, drawing on the disciplinary expertise
of faculties across campus. In addition, it provides the opportunity,
through its two-thirds research component, for participants
to undertake an independent research project leading to a
thesis. The course is designed to build on existing strengths
of the participants and provide a formal education opportunity
for them to demonstrate their managerial capacities in order
to gain a competitive advantage in business.
Course Structure
Coursework Component
The coursework component accounts for one third of the degree
and consists of eight six credit point subjects:

Plus four TBS subjects or other 900 level subjects from the
University's cross-Faculty offerings, as agreed with the Program
Co-ordinator after consideration of the students' background
and research aims.
Thesis Component
The thesis component accounts for two thirds of the degree.
