Doctor of Philosophy
Entry to this degree is available to candidates who meet the University
entry requirements for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidature. In
the first instance this requires the completion of a Bachelors degree
with Honours Class II or higher in an appropriate area, or an equivalent
qualification with an appropriate research component.
Pattern of Study
Candidates for this degree enrol in a Doctoral Thesis, subject
number EDGZ909.
Interested candidates should contact the Associate Dean (Research)
to discuss their area of research and supervision. All new students
enrolling in a research degree are expected to prepare and defend
a research proposal early in their candidature and to become involved
in activities such as student colloquia. See subject descriptions
for further information.
Time Limits
Normally, the degree will be completed in not less than four, and
not more than eight, academic sessions of full-time study, or six
to 16 sessions of part-time study. A full-time student load is 24
credit points per session, a part-time student load will be 6-18
credit points per session.
