Master of Information and Communication Technology
Introduction
The purpose of this degree is to provide graduates working in the
area of information and/or communication technology with a deeper
understanding of the organisational, economics and policy issues
essential to the effective management of information technology.
Entry Requirements
Candidates would normally have, either:
- Graduate Certificate in Information and Communication Technology
(with an average of 65% or better); or
- A three-year Bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution
(with a grade average of 65% or better) related to ICT, for example:
computer science; information technology; business information
systems; computer, electrical or telecommunications engineering;
or
- A three-year Bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution
(with a grade average of 65% or better) in any area plus at least
one year (full-time) or two years' (part-time) employment in the
ICT industry; or
- Applicants who meet the academic requirements for entry but
have a degree in an area unrelated to ICT and who do not have
work experience in ICT (one year full-time or two years' part-time)
may take the Pathways course prior to entry. Upon successful completion
of this program students will be permitted to enrol in the above
course.
Program of Study
The Master of Information and Communication Technology degree will
normally occupy one year of full-time study or part-time equivalent,
and requires satisfactory completion of 900 level subjects to the
value of at least 48 credit points (excluding the subjects IACT960
and IACT970). The 48 credit points must include:
- At least five (5) subjects, with a minimum credit point value
of 30, selected from the IACT
Graduate Subjects.
- If only five (5) are chosen, three (3) subjects selected
from either the CSCI
Graduate Subjects or the Graduate
Additional Subjects List.
