This course (available on both a full-time and part-time
basis) is intended both for those who have no prior legal
education but want a focused introduction to law through a
study of natural resources law, and for those with a prior
legal education who wish to specialise in the field of natural
resources law. The course is made up of two compulsory subjects
(Introduction to Law; Introduction to Natural Resources Law)
and four subjects chosen from a range of options (offered
on the basis of demand and teaching resources). Those who
have studied law previously may be exempted from some compulsory
subjects and allowed to study additional optional subjects.
Subjects will be offered on a mixed mode basis, combining
intensive residential schools with directed reading and writing.
Assessment may be based on assignments, participation in
class discussions, examinations and research essays.
