Graduate Certificate in Social Change & Development
CAPSTRANS is
a joint initiative of the Universities of Wollongong and Newcastle.
It is a Key Centre of Research and Teaching funded by the
Australian Research Council, the two universities and by partners
in business and government.
This Graduate Certificate (24 credit point by coursework)
is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills
to understand the processes of social change and development,
and to improve their problem solving skills and effectiveness
as administrators, researchers, development planners, educators,
or managers. The course combines theoretical perspectives
with empirical studies and policy-oriented perspectives.
The post graduate teaching program complements the Centre's
research programs so that all courses are informed by the
most recent high quality research. Students are offered the
opportunity to study in a research and teaching centre with
extensive international networks staffed by some of the best
scholars in their respective fields.
On-campus study is possible at the University of Wollongong
or University of Newcastle, while flexible delivery modes
and delivery at Asia partner Universities are currently being
developed.
Entry to the Degree
Students normally have a Bachelor's degree with a minor sequence
in the area studied.
