Master of Arts (Honours) by Coursework and Minor Thesis
(History)
This degree provides an option for students who wish to undertake
an Honours Masters degree in history without a major thesis.
The research component is still present in the minor thesis,
but the student is able to undertake subjects outside the
area of the thesis as well.
This is a degree based on a combination of coursework and
a minor thesis. The course is made up by taking three subjects
from the Masters schedule (which must include HIST 951 and
HIST 904) and a minor thesis of 20,000 words (HIST975).
Please note: for 2001 only, students may choose from the
Politics subjects in the Masters schedule for their third
coursework subject.
This course normally takes one year of full-time study or
two years part-time.
