Darryl McAndrew, Lecturer in Anatomy, Body Donation Program Coordinator

Darryl McAndrew holds the position of lecturer within the Division of Medical Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine. In this role he delivers anatomical science content to the medical students and provides academic leadership for the University's Anatomy Facility. He also holds the license for the University to conduct cadaveric anatomy.

Darryl received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wollongong in 1993 and is concurrently completing a PhD and a MSc (OH&S). His PhD focuses on identifying fibre type characteristics and distribution within segmental muscle and his MSc specialises in occupational hygiene.

Darryl's primary research interests include the non-invasive identification of muscle fibre types, the control of voluntary muscle activation and the effects of occupational exposure to industrial noise. He is proficient in the techniques of fine wire electromyography and mechanomyography.
