Dr Darryl McAndrew, Lecturer in Anatomy, Body Donation Programme Coordinator

Dr Darryl McAndrew holds the position of lecturer within the Division of Medical Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine. In this role he delivers anatomical science content to the medical students and provides academic leadership for the University's Anatomy Facility. He also holds the license for the University to conduct cadaveric anatomy.

Darryl received his PhD from the University of Wollongong in 2009. He also holds an MSc (OH&S). His PhD focuses on identifying fibre type characteristics and distribution within segmental muscle.

Darryl's science research interests include the non-invasive identification of muscle fibre types, the control of voluntary muscle activation and the role of ergonomics in the workplace. He is proficient in the techniques of fine wire electromyography and mechanomyography. His educational research focuses on the delivery of anatomical education and the integration of anatomical science / clinical anatomy with the clinical sciences.
