Centre for Supply Chain Management ResearchThe Centre for Supply Chain Management Research strives to become Australia's leading research institution dedicated to supply chain management. Drawing on research and the consulting experience of faculty members and practitioners from the University of Wollongong, as well as from other universities, the Centre conducts applied research to solve the challenging supply chain problems encountered by business for sustainable supply chain improvement. The Centre also conducts specifically tailored educational and executive seminars, guest speaker presentations and, once a year hosts The Supply Chain Executive Forum. The Centre has an Executive Advisory Board consisting of industry executives and faculty members from various industry and academic areas. The Executive Advisory Board provides strategic direction to the Centre, and influences the research initiatives and academic programs offered by the Centre. The Centre's membership consists a number of industry and academic associate members. This group of experts brings significant, relevant expertise from the public, education and industry sector to provide solutions to emerging supply chain management problems. The Centre is founded on the principle that the field of supply chain management is a cross-functional discipline involving many components, including marketing, logistics, operations, warehousing, inventory, transportation, the management of relationships, channels of distribution, and information technology. The Centre builds upon the strengths of the University of Wollongong and the Sydney Business School in research, education and executive training. The mission of the Centre is to develop and analyse effective strategies for improving competitiveness through successful management of global supply chains. Peter Robertson is an experienced supply chain practitioner and academic with extensive knowledge and background in the manufacturing industry. Peter's key strengths are in the fields of operations and supply chain management, logistics, business planning, project management, with strong supervision, communication and presentation skills. On many occasions Peter has acted as a consultant on a range of significant business projects requiring strategic insight and/or the management of complex interdependencies. Peter has worked across culturally diverse businesses (Asia, Australia, New Zealand and USA).
