Mr Ron Perrin

 

Mr Perrin has been an academic staff member at UOW since 1992. He is a member of the School of Accounting and Finance, in the Faculty of Commerce, where he teaches management, financial accounting and accounting theory. Mr Perrin has been a Sub Dean of the Faculty for over ten years. Mr Perrin’s research interests are accounting, philosophy, social theory and pedagogy.


Before joining the University, Mr Perrin was a Financial Controller and Deputy Chief Executive Officer for a division of an international insurance broking firm. He has also held management positions in public administration and small business.


Mr Perrin is a former president of the NTEU UOW branch. He has been on the enterprise bargaining team for over ten years and is the lead negotiator in the current round of bargaining.


Mr Perrin has been an active member of governance committees and working parties. In 1997, he was a member of the University Council. He has also been a member of the Council of the University of Western Sydney. Mr Perrin served the maximum number of consecutive terms on the Academic Senate and also served as a member of the Senate Standing Committee.  In his role as Sub Dean, he works to enhance the experience and achievements of students across all faculties, and acts as a mentor to both students and staff.


As a member of the academic community he has supported and been involved in UOW’s engagement with the Illawarra and with his professional association, CPA Australia. Mr Perrin seeks to demonstrate in himself, and demands from others, the values, beliefs and principles of fairness, equity, natural justice, accountability and the protection of the vulnerable.
