Ms Elizabeth Larbalestier

Liz Larbalestier is a 5th year Commerce (Economics)/Law student. In 2003, Liz completed the HSC at Port Hacking High School in Sutherland Shire, and now during her time at the University of Wollongong she has taken on many of the opportunities that the University of Wollongong has to offer its students. Liz has completed a semester at North Carolina State University through the University of Wollongong's Student Exchange Program. Liz has been involved with the clubs and societies on campus from political and academic including the Law Students' Society. Liz has also taken on the opportunity of the Law Faculty's Legal Placement Program, carrying out an internship at the ACCC.

Liz has experience in representing student interests to the university administration and greater community in her role as President of the University of Wollongong Undergraduate Students' Association in 2007 and as the current National Union of Students Welfare Officer.

Liz wants to see greater communication between the levels of student representation working better together to ensure that student needs are being addressed through all committee stages of the University and that students are involved in the process. Liz is keen to ensure that the University Council is held accountable for undergraduate students. Liz wants to ensure that undergraduate students receive a quality education where students are supported by quality and affordable student services on campus. She is also passionate to see the University of Wollongong committed to e-teaching to increase the flexibility of learning for students.
