University Education Committee (UEC)

The University Education Committee (UEC) is a subcommittee of Academic Senate. Its role is to provide leadership in the development of policies and strategies aimed at achieving the University's objectives in teaching and learning.
Chaired by Professor Rob Castle, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), the UEC is a forum for the University community to raise, discuss and endorse changes to learning and teaching policies and issues before they are sent to Academic Senate for approval.
Terms of Reference
The UEC's responsibilities are spelt out in its Terms of Reference which were most recently endorsed by Academic Senate on 5 November 2008.
Membership
The membership of the UEC is drawn from all sections of the University. UEC's current membership is available here.
UEC Subcommittees
UEC is supported by seven subcommittees which are each responsible for their own education policy areas:
- Student Support for Learning Subcommittee (SSL)
- Education Policy Review Subcommittee (EPRS)
- Quality Assurance Subcommittee (QAS)
- E-Learning and Teaching Subcommittee (eLTS)
- Excellence, Diversity and Innovation in Teaching Subcommittee (EDITS)
- Teaching Facilities Subcommittee (TFS)
- Internationalisation in Learning and Teaching Subcommittee (ILTS)
