UOW Student Elections 2008

Elections will be held in September/October for student representatives to the following bodies:

• The Academic Senate
• WUSA (Wollongong Undergraduate Students’ Association)
• WUPA (Wollongong University Postgraduate Association).

Positions Available

Academic Senate

The following positions are available:
• 4 Undergraduate Student members
• 2 Postgraduate Student members.

WUSA

The following positions are available:
• 13 Office Bearers – see Notice of Election for specific positions
• 14 General Representatives
• 5 NUS Delegates.

• 11 Executive Positions - see Notice of Election for specific positions
• 3 General Representatives.

Nominations

Nomination Period

Nominations for all elections open at 9am on Wednesday, 10 September 2008 and close at 5pm on Wednesday, 24 September 2008.

A second call for nominations for Postgraduate Student members of Academic Senate opens at 9am on Friday, 26 September 2008 and closes at 5pm on Thursday 2 October 2008.

Nomination Forms

Nomination Forms for each election will be available from Wednesday, 10 September 2008 from:
• Academic Senate Nomination Form
• WUSA - Nomination Form for WUSA
• WUSA - Nomination Form for NUS
• WUPA Nomination Form.

Nominations Forms will also be available from the Policy and Governance Unit (located in the Academic Registrar’s Division, Ground Floor, Administration Building 36), or from the WUSA office (located in Building 11) or the WUPA office (located in Buildings 115 and 116).

Nominations must be made in writing using the relevant Nomination Form.

Lodging Nomination Forms

Signed Nomination Forms for all elections must be received by the Returning Officer or a Deputy Returning Officer by no later than 5pm on Wednesday, 24 September 2008.

Arising from the second call for nominations for Postgraduate Student members of Academic Senate, signed Nomination Forms for this election must be received by the Returning Officer or a Deputy Returning Officer by no later than 5pm on Thursday 2 October 2008.

Signed Nomination Forms may be lodged with a Deputy Returning Officer in the Policy and Governance Unit (located in the Academic Registrar's Division, Ground Floor, Administration Building 36), or a Deputy Returning Officer located in either the WUSA offices (located in Building 11) or the WUPA offices (located in Buildings 115 and 116).

Voting

Voting in all elections will commence at 9am on Wednesday, 8 October 2008.

Voting in the WUSA and WUPA elections will close at 5pm on Friday, 10 October 2008.

Voting in the Academic Senate election will close at 5pm on Wednesday, 22 October 2008.
