Different to his previous tours of India, cricketing legend Adam Gilchrist joined the University of Wollongong (UOW) to invite students to come to Australia and study at UOW on a tour across India.

Gilchrist joined Vice-Chancellor Professor Gerard Sutton and travelled to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore to personally invite over 400 students to come to study at the award winning University of Wollongong.

Along with facts about the University, faculties and Wollongong itself, Gilchrist shared stories from his career as Australia's greatest-ever wicketkeeper batsman. A standout was the description of his first century – which took place in Wollongong!

"I was thrilled to have the opportunity to meet students who are looking to further their education in Australia, and in Wollongong”, Gilchrist said. “Their enthusiasm to learn is obvious, and I have been pleased to be part of this event which encourages learning and education, which we believe we deliver to a high standard.”

Prospective students who wish to apply to study at UOW should apply online.
