Professional Accreditation

UOW courses are recognised internationally and in Australia through accreditation by professional organisations. The table below shows some popular courses and the relevant organisation which has accredited the course, or to which graduates are eligible to apply for membership.

In addition to completing an approved program of subjects within an accredited course, there may be additional criteria to meet professional requirements: for example some organisations require completion of a period professional experience in order to gain full membership. You are advised to check with the professional organisation directly for full details.

 * If you plan to obtain membership of CPA Australia and/or Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), you must apply to CPA Australia and/or ICAA for recognition of your previous studies and their suitability as a basis for membership. Any unit preclusions that are granted by the University of Wollongong will also need to be approved by CPA Australia and/or ICAA. Whether you are overseas or currently in Australia, you should commence this process before your studies at the University of Wollongong commence. Should you fail to contact CPA Australia and/or ICAA, you will risk an inappropriate enrolment and/or not meeting all entry requirements of CPA Australia and/or ICAA. It is your responsibility to determine via contact with CPA Australia and/or ICAA what studies at the University of Wollongong you need to undertake in order to qualify for associate membership of that body.
