How to accept your offer to study at UOW

You have applied to study at UOW and your application has been successful; congratulations! You are on your way to a life-changing experience studying at one of the best modern universities in the world.

If you have any questions about your offer letter, please read Understanding your offer.

The first thing you need to do is accept your offer.

Step 1: Clear Offer Conditions

Your offer may come with conditions that you need to meet before you can accept your offer, such as finishing your current study, meeting the English language requirements for your course, or providing official copies of your academic documents. These conditions will be listed in your Offer of Admission, and you will need to provide certified evidence that you have met those conditions. If you have any questions about the conditions on your offer, please contact us.

GTE Screening form

The genuine temporary entrant (GTE) requirement applies to people applying for a student visa in Australia.

If you are required to undergo GTE assessment you will need to submit the new GTE form. If your offer is conditional on GTE assessment, this will be indicated in your Offer of Admission letter. You will need to submit a completed GTE form and any requested documentation and wait to be notified of the outcome.

If your offer does not include any conditions, go to Step 2.

Package Offers

A package offer is an offer of two or more courses, for example:

  • English course + principal academic program
  • Two academic programs (for example, Foundation Studies + Bachelor degree)
  • English course + two academic programs

The offer will show the courses including in the package offer as different parts.

For example, in the case of a package offer for an English and Foundation Studies course with UOW College Australia and a Bachelor degree with UOW, the offer will contain:

  • Part 1: English course
  • Part 2: Foundation Studies course
  • Part 3: Bachelor degree

If there is a requirement to complete the one course before progressing to the next course, this will be indicated as a condition on the offer for the next course.

If you have a package offer for an English course plus academic programs, you can choose not to accept the English course, however; you must provide evidence you meet the English condition before you accept the academic program agreements.

In your package offer, you will have a separate Acceptance Agreement for each course that you will need to complete and return to accept the offer.

Step 2: Acceptance Agreement and Additional Documentation

When we send your Offer of Admission letter, we will also include an Acceptance Agreement form. Please check that all of the details are correct, including the course information and start dates.

If the details are correct, and you have read and understood all information on the form, please reply to the email you received containing your Offer of Admission letter and attach a signed copy of your Acceptance Agreement. If you cannot locate your offer email, you can send your acceptance to UOW Future Students. Please ensure that you return your Acceptance Agreement before you pay any fees.

We may have also asked you to provide further information with your acceptance, such as evidence of financial capacity. If this information has been requested, please include the additional documentation with your Acceptance Agreement.

Step 3: UOW Confirmation

This step is for applicants who applied directly to UOW without the assistance of a UOW representative or agent.

Once we have reviewed your Acceptance Agreement, we will advise you when it is appropriate to submit payment (Fee Payable). Please do not submit payment until you hear from us, as submitting fees before receiving confirmation may result in a lengthy refund process if your application does not proceed.

If you have applied through a UOW representative (agent), you will usually not be required to wait for confirmation from UOW in order to submit payment.

Step 4: Pay Fees

You must submit the Fee Payable stated on your offer before a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) will be issued to you for your student visa application.

We advise you to only pay the Fee Payable to UOW or UOW College Australia. Please do not make payment of tuition fees to a representative office or education agent of UOW, or an individual staff member of an education agent; or to an institution, such as a pathway university or college.

Flywire allows you to pay from almost any country and any bank. They also offer excellent foreign exchange rates, allowing you to pay in your home currency (in most cases) and save money, compared to traditional banks. You will be able to track the progress of your payment throughout the transfer process with a student dashboard and you will also be notified by email when your payment is received by UOW. Flywire aims to provide the best price for international payments with their Best Price Guarantee. Visit www.flywire.com/pay/uow to make your payment.

Payment Methods
Students who are making payment from an offshore bank account (from a country other than Australia) should pay through Flywire.

Students who are making a payment from an Australian bank account can pay through the ePayment portal for UOW courses only. If you wish to pay via this method, please contact the UOW Future Students team to request a link to the portal. A surcharge fee will apply for payments made using a debit or credit card.

If you wish to pay fees for a UOW College Australia course, please refer to the UOWC fees page.

Sponsored Students

If you are a student whose tuition fees will be paid directly to UOW by a government or institutional sponsor, you must provide supporting documents from your sponsor to show that your fees have or will be paid. These documents may be in the form of a Financial Guarantee or letter of sponsorship. Your sponsor must have an agreement with UOW before you can choose this option. Further information about privacy and consent is available at Sponsored Students.

Confirmation of Enrolment (COE)

If you successfully complete the above steps, an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) will be emailed to you or your UOW representative. You need an eCOE to apply for a student visa.

Late date to issue COE

Offshore student: 3 weeks prior to the first day of session
Onshore student on valid visa: Last day of the first week of session

Deferral

You can defer your offer to study at UOW by up to one year. You will have to complete the UOW deferral request after you've received your offer from UOW*. Once you submit your deferral request, we’ll send you a new offer and information on how to enrol.

*A deferral may affect your student visa. Contact the Department of Home Affairs for visa requirement enquiries.

Fees for your UOW course will be calculated at the time your offer is made. Any difference in fees incurred by your deferral will need to be paid prior to the issuing of a new CoE.
