What happens if I don't get my first preference?

1. If you don’t get your first preference in the main round of offers, maintain this preference for automatic consideration in Late Round Offers.

IMPORTANT: Enrol in the course to which you have been made an offer, even if this is not your first preference. Why? If you do not enrol in that course and choose to wait and see if you get your first preference in the Late Round offers, your original offer may lapse. This means if you don’t get your first preference in late round offers, you may end up with no University place at all.

Generally, if you spend one year in a degree and you do well, you can apply to transfer to another degree at the end of your first year. Please note that consideration for transfer will be based on academic achievement and is not guaranteed.

2. Wollongong College Australia (WCA). www.wca.uow.edu.au

WCA is a college owned by the University of Wollongong. The College offers University preparation programs which can provide a direct entry path to the University of Wollongong. You can commence a program in March, July or October. The costs of a WCA program are now able to be deferred with FEE-HELP. Please speak to the WCA Representative on Options Day regarding admission requirements.

3. TAFE
