Degrees Offered

Courses offered for Early Entry through the Faculty of Commerce:

  • Bachelor of Commerce - offered at all campuses (14 majors available)
  • Bachelor of Economics and Finance – offered at all campuses (subject to approval)
  • Bachelor of Business – offered at all campuses (subject to approval)

Joint Degrees with TAFE –

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Event Management) – offered at Wollongong, Shoalhaven and Southern Sydney Campuses
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Hospitality Management) – offered at Wollongong and Southern Sydney Campuses
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Tourism Management) – offered at Wollongong Campus

The Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance is offered through the Faculty of Informatics.

Early Entry is not offered into:

  • Dean’s Scholar – Direct applications to Dean’s Scholar in the Faculty of Commerce is not available through Early Entry; however if you receive a guaranteed Early Entry offer and achieve the ATAR required for entry into the Dean’s Scholar course, you will be automatically accepted into this course if it is your highest eligible UAC preference.
  • If you receive a Guaranteed Early Entry offer and obtain the ATAR required for entry into the Dean’s Scholar Program, you will receive an offer for this program as long as Dean’s Scholar at UOW is your highest eligible preference.

 

Selection Criteria

The Faculty of Commerce will pay particular attention to the following subjects when assessing applications:

Mathematics – General Maths or above is required to be considered for Early Entry into Commerce at UOW. Please see the table below for the minimum standard of performance in Mathematics:

English – Standard English or above is required to be considered for Early Entry into Commerce at UOW. Students undertaking English as a Second Language (ESL) will also be considered. Please see the table below for the minimum standard of performance in English:

If you do not meet these subject requirements, the Faculty is unable to assess you for Early Entry, however you are still eligible to apply for entry into Commerce courses through the regular UAC process.

If your results are higher than the criteria listed above, you may be made an offer without interview.

Offers and Interviews 

Some students will receive an offer based on their application only, Others will be offered an interview. If you are offered an interview, you will be contacted by email to attend an interview during the last week in September.  Telephone interviews can be arranged for students living more than 2 hours away.  Video-conference interviews will be arranged for suitable applicants for Batemans Bay and Bega Campuses.

 

Celebration 

Students who receive an offer will be invited, along with two guests, to a welcome function to be held in November at Wollongong Campus.
