If your child is applying for an undergraduate place, they will apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
UAC provides all HSC students with application information and guides outlining the minimum Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) score needed to qualify for each degree. If you live interstate, you need to contact your local Tertiary Admissions Centre so application material can be sent to you.
Some courses have additional application criteria so they may also need to attend an interview or audition.
Early bird
If your son or daughter does well in their trial HSC, they may be guaranteed a place at university before they sit their HSC exams. Read about our Early Entry program.
Bonus entry points
Gaining entry to university doesn’t just come down to their HSC result. They may be eligible for extra points through our Points to UOW or Bonus Points programs.
Special access and alternative entry
UOW is committed to equity in access to education, so if your child doesn’t achieve their desired ATAR score, they may still qualify for admission through our special access programs.
Alternatively, Wollongong College Australia offers university preparation programs that, when completed successfully, guarantee entry to UOW.
