Our academics are leaders in their field, and provide international corporations and organisations with cutting-edge research and business solutions across engineering, health sciences, policy development, and beyond. 

Our international reputation is enhanced through the world leading SMART and IHMRI, and the innovative AIIM institutes.

Examples of key research include:

• Intelligent polymers research with US Army Research and Marks & Spencer UK; 
• Social Policy development in collaboration with the Volkswagen Foundation; 
• Developing new microwave technology with Tettinatura lane di Rieti and AECI. 

The University also has one of the largest sites of information technology, multimedia and telecommunications research in the Southern Hemisphere, partnering with Nortel Networks, Motorola and Vodafone.
