Rolling Mechanics

The Rolling Mechanics group of EMI aims to carry out modeling techniques that simulate realistically plastic deformation in metal forming processes, particularly for rolling.

The group has unique facilities including a sophisticated Hille100 Rolling Mill, Gleeble 3500 thermo-mechanical simulator, atomic force microscopy, nanoindenter/nanoscratch, friction and wear test rigs.
