How we Assist Industry

BME Australia has extensive expertise in all areas of bulk solids handling and has access to the well-equipped solids handling facilities of the Centre for Bulk Solids and Particulate Technologies at the University of Wollongong.

BME Australia is well positioned to assist industry in solving bulk materials handling problems in all the areas listed previously. The nature of this work includes:

Troubleshooting of plant and process problems

General design (e.g. concept design parameters, hardware and operating requirements, plant and equipment layout and interactions)

Characterisation and/or classification of bulk solids

Modelling and estimation of relevant process parameters

Analysis, evaluation and/or optimisation of existing systems

Feasibility studies

Technical and/or safety audits of handling plants and processes involving bulk solids, including dust explosion hazards

Evaluation of contracts and bids for new equipment, processes and/or plants

Research and development of new technologies on a broad range of industrial problems relating to bulk solids handling and dust-fume control
